"Lawyers for Sandra Cano — the ‘Jane Doe’ in the landmark abortion case Doe v. Bolton — have filed a request with the U.S. Supreme Court to have the 1973 decision reconsidered and overturned," per Pete Winn, Associate Editor, CitizenLink.org.
"In Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court created a constitutional right to an abortion. Doe v. Bolton added the health of the mother’ exception that made abortion legal any time during pregnancy — right up to birth.
"Mike Johnson, senior legal counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, said the challenge is being mounted by The Justice Foundation, a pro-family legal group in Texas. Its legal basis is similar to an attempt made by Norma McCorvey — the Jane Roe’ in Roe v. Wade — to overturn that decision.
"’In both cases, you have the original plaintiffs, who have had a change of heart in the matter,’ Johnson said. ‘They are now petitioning the court to reopen their case and re-examine the rulings.’"
Cano said that she was pushed into the abortion category, not knowing how she finally got there. What she originally wanted was to divorce her husband and get her children out of foster care. However, the liberals used her by inserting the abortion issue. And the rest is history.
Cano is now using a federal rule that is a technicality. It states that "an original plaintiff to a matter can reopen a case, if they have a change of heart."
Cano has had a change of heart, in a way. It’s "in a way" in that she never did wish for an abortion. The abortionists prostituted the procedure by employing her very existence for their killing-womb-babies agenda. Cano admits she was "very vulnerable" at the time.
"’If and when Roe and Doe are ever reversed,’ Johnson said, ‘then the decision regarding abortion would be automatically returned to the individual states, and then each state would have to decide whether to prohibit or allow abortions — and under what circumstances.’"
Conservatives have a long way to go to get the present Supreme Court to abandon abortion. Even with Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Samuel Alito being pro-life, the others would uphold Roe v Wade. They are Justices Kennedy, Breyer, Ginsburg, Stevens and Souter.
