The judge prohibited prayer at the Russell Springs, KY high school graduation.
The students stood to their feet and offered the Lord’s Prayer in unison.
ACLU backed the lawsuit that ended with the judge’s decision. An anonymous graduating senior worked with the ACLU to cancel prayer.
The cowardly student, remaining without name, identified himself only as "John Doe."
Twelve hours before the graduation ceremony, the judged sided with the lawsuit. When the principal began his opening address, the student body acknowledged the Lord God by saying the Lord’s Day prayer together. With that, the audience of 2000 stood to its feet with applause, according to AP as reported by the Baptist Press.
The Judeo-Christian heritage is American. The US Constitution guarantees the right of religious expression. The theological and political liberals would change all that for a secularized society throughout America, like unto Europe’s secularization.
Those who hold firmly to the separation of religion and government will not win in America as long as the Judeo-Christian conviction remains strong. To recite "separation of church and state" as equated to America is foolish. That phrase is defined as no denomination is held as the national denomination while in England Anglicanism is the national denomination.
Liberals delight in tossing about "separation of church and state." That does not apply to America. What liberals actually want is no Judeo-Christian heritage recognized henceforth.
"The ‘revival like atmosphere’ continued, AP said, when senior Megan Chapman, chosen by her classmates to deliver remarks, mentioned her faith -- particularly that she believed God had guided her since childhood. She was interrupted repeatedly by the cheering crowd as she admonished graduates to trust in God.
"’So, when you get out in the world and things get hard and you don’t feel like you’re going to pass that final next week in college, or you’re not going to be able to pay that next bill, God’s going to help you through that with your faith in Him,’ Chapman said, according to AP.
"Russell County School Superintendent Scott Pierce told AP he was pleased with the response from the senior class at graduation because it showed they’ve learned to be ‘critical thinkers. They exhibited what we’ve tried to accomplish in 12 years of education -- they have the ability to make these compelling decisions on their own,’ he said."
