Sher Zieve: New Democrats’ Growing Anti-Semitism

Prior to the New Democrat left-wing contingent (specifically the Soros/Ickes “money-wing”) usurping the Democrat Party, the term liberal meant tolerant, generous, broad-minded and bountiful. Now, as has actually been placed into practice by the aforementioned group, the word means intolerance (of any and all differing ideologies including the religions of Judaism and Christianity), licentiousness, increasing mean-spiritedness and the zealous preaching of ignorance, want and the philosophy of lack. For example, one of the New Democrat leadership’s constant mantras is: ‘The reason you don’t have enough and will never have enough is because of those nasty conservatives and Republicans! We hate Republicans!’ This mean-spirited rhetoric is to be expected from all true-blue New Democrats. Otherwise they’re not allowed into the Party. Hmmm. I think there must be some kind of test employed, before potential New Democrats can be considered. The Howard Dean scream? But, something far more insidious is occurring in this once open-minded Party and I find it patently disturbing.

The chilling bit of ice-up-the-back, surrounding the above comments, is that this is the way most tyrannical leaderships have historically begun, when they have had no solutions to problems—scapegoating others. Even more alarming is that the New secular Democrats, who have already blamed Christians for their problems, have moved backwards in time and are now holding the most famous scapegoat race in history to blame—the Jews. Barely reported by the mainstream press, anti-Semitism is and has been on the rise in the Democrat Party for quite some time. To support and emphasize my statements, I offer the following:

· Ray McGovern, former intelligence analyst and Democrat said that President Bush was “doing the bidding” of Israeli PM Ariel Sharon, the “neocons” were directing the actions of the Bush Administration so that “the United States and Israel could dominate that part of the world”. Note: The term “neocon”, as used by New Democrats, means ‘Republican Jews’. And if the US and Israel are trying to dominate “that part of the world” (as McGovern firmly states) I find it perplexing. With the recent Gaza “push-out” of Israeli citizens, how do they intend to do it? Israel has just appeased the will of the terrorists! Using even a modicum of common sense, giving up one’s land to one’s enemies is no way to “dominate” any part of any region. More inane leftist-think?

· During the 1970s and into the 1990s, Democrat Black leader Jesse Jackson referred to New York City as “Hymie-town” (a derogatory term for the Jewish population), with no repercussions from the Democrat Party. In fact, President Clinton appointed him as ‘special envoy’ to Nigeria! Was this Jackson’s reward for opinions held and statements made? One has to wonder.

· Five-time-elected Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney was loudly anti-Semitic. Even the NY Times finally, although tentatively, commented that she had made “a series of other incendiary, often racial comments”. McKinney later blamed her ultimate defeat to Denise Majette on the Jews. However, even after McKinney’s continuous anti-Semitic slurs, House Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi continued to openly support her. More rewards for a job well-done, Ms. Pelosi? I’m sensing a pattern here

· In 2003, Rep. James Moran (D-VA) said “the leaders of the Jewish community” were the ones responsible for the war with Iraq

· Former President Jimmy Carter said allowing the “Palestinians to suffer” was the “source of anti-American sentiment in the world and encourages terror”. And this almost complete misunderstanding of world history came from a former POTUS!

· Cindy Sheehan (the latest leftist mouthpiece-mom-for-the-cause) said of her son Casey, who died fighting in Iraq: “Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC (Project for the New American Century—headed by William Krystol) Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by a George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11! You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you'll stop the terrorists”. So, even Sheehan says ‘the Jews are to blame for everything. Oh, and as is typical of the left, she says President Bush is too! Both Sheehan’s comments and her overall leftist stance have been embraced by the mainstream press and its leftist brothers and sisters in the Democrat Party. Note: In regards to Ms. Sheehan’s query, regarding her ostensible intelligence, I would have answered her question differently

The above examples of the growing anti-Semitism (specifically anti-Jew) and overall intolerance within the New Democrat mindset and Party are not new—not new at all. They have been there for decades. These are but a few of the hundreds of examples I could have cited; more examples than can be listed in one column. In the past, however, this blatant racism and hatred had been relegated to “fringe elements”. Now it is the foundational core of both the Democrat Party and its rank and file members. Most certainly, there are racist comments that have been made by Republicans. But, when Republicans are caught, they are forced to resign. On the flip side, if a Democrat voices intolerance, hatred and racist comments, they are considered and touted as Badges of Honor. The Democrat Party can no longer claim to be “democratic” and I’m calling upon its leaders to affect a name change. Are you with me?
