Blood. Guts. Nudity. Cursing. Blasphemy. Torture. Dismembering.
It’s all there in the video trade for the young and old. Children as young as 8 can purchase the degradation. Clerks are more willing to sell the package than ask questions.
All the more that parents put video games and home computers out in the open where everything is seen by everybody. Computers in youngsters’ rooms is a moral death sentence of many dimensions.
So it is that Senator Hillary Clinton is plowing in against the debauched sales industry.
However, when watching one of the "entertainment" representatives on this evening’s national telecast, he did not seem to be bothered at all about his firm marketing immorality to American’s youth. His face wore that smug look. His answers to the interviewer’s questions were predictable. And so forth and so forth. Thus freedom of speech has its own pitfalls.
But Hillary is right in there doing battle. According to AFP, she’s disgusted with the "gruesome shots of computerized cannibalism, police beatings and violence" on video fare. Hillary, linking up with Joseph Lieberman "lauded new legislation intended to protect kids from graphic, violent and sexual material on tier game consoles."
That’s quite commendable.
However, immediately my suspicious part of the brain went into action. It said: "And why is Hillary jumping on this moral / immoral issue so enthusiastically? Is she up to the middle class evangelical morality zeal as she was last Christmas season when she met with an audience in Boston to espouse religion in the marketplace?
All along the world has known Hillary as an archliberal, though she was reared in a rather conservative Methodist context. Her husband, William Jefferson Clinton, was brought up in an even more conservative congregation, a Baptist church in the South where the evangelical morality was preached and lived out.
However, they both have lost their biblical ways since childhood, being leaders in some of the most liberal causes, abortion being one of the most popular.
So with that liberal baggage hanging on to the woman, how can I but suspect that this crusade for cleaning up rotten videos is but two-sided — wanting the clean up and at the same time reaching out to the biblically moored Americans.
Of course, the Red States voters who stood in line for hours last November 2004 are not fooled. They voted for conservatives. They are going to press the conservative mark on anyone who even thinks of walking toward the Oval Office.
The truly patriotic in America are the conservatives who fight daily against the Democrat killing Party. That clique kills off American’s Judeo-Christian heritage, religious expression in the marketplace, and biblical definitions of marriage, sexuality, femininity, masculinity, and morality. The Democrat Party kills off elderly by endorsing euthanasia and kills of womb babies by endorsing slaying the unborn. If the nation went Democrat Party, it would die for that is the program of that particular conclave.
Therefore, Hillary, who would run for US President in the next national election under the Democrat Party banner, would be in favor of all the killing postulates her party espouses. Consequently, how could American moralists take her seriously when she speaks in favor of decency in videos? In other words, she is endorsing cleaning up videos so that they spring forth life rather than death. Yet her Party stands for all that is death and killing. She, then, is a contradiction. That makes me all the more suspicious.
She’s straddling. She’s trying to be a moralist like unto the conservative Republican but she is a card-carrying members of the Democrat killing Party. Won’t work.
"Clinton sprung into action after a controversy earlier this year involving the latest edition of the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ game which could be modified to include graphic sex with a modification called ‘Hot Coffee’ available on the Internet.
"’I have developed legislation that will empower parents by making sure their kids cant walk into a store and buy a video game that has graphic, violent and pornographic content,’ said Clinton, a possible 2008 presidential candidate.
"’Today's report is yet further proof that we need to make sure parents have the tools and support they need to make informed decisions for their children.’"
Yes, that makes sense if it came from the lips of US President George W. Bush and team. But coming from Hillary?
