New Internet provider to help fund the cause
(Washington, DC - March 15, 2005) Freedom21.com, a new Internet service provider (ISP) initiated today, will unite and fund those who are fighting for constitutional rule of law. The announcement was made by Tom DeWeese, creator of the ISP. DeWeese is president of the American Policy Center, a grassroots activist organization in suburban Washington, D.C. and publisher of The DeWeese Report. The ISP will bring together “the freedom movement in this country.”
“The freedom movement are all those people who want to unite to protect constitutional rights that include Second Amendment rights, property rights, privacy rights, the right to life, and others that unite people who believe these essential rights are under attack throughout the nation,’ said DeWeese.
“Frankly, we are losing our freedoms because the freedom movement in America has been reduced to little more than a rag-tag band of mom-and-pop groups whose members cash their paychecks on Friday night, and head to Kinkos to make copies of materials to hand out in meetings on Saturday,” said DeWeese. “Meanwhile, the other side has massive foundations which have literally billions of dollars to pour into the fight.”
“I have created a full service Internet provider strictly for the freedom movement. Subscribers will get an e-mail address that carries the freedom message (your name@freedom21.com). They will get news with their point of view, provided by CNS News (Cybercast News Service), an arm of the Media Research Center. The biased news of the mainstream media will be replaced by news of concern and interest to people who love their nation and believe in its values.”
Noting the special features offered by Freedom21.com, DeWeese said, “Imagine being able to tell the entire freedom movement of special meetings, conferences, or important activities in local communities through a message board, while receiving up-to-the-minute action alerts and commentaries from leading freedom advocates.”
An important feature of the site is the way it will help fund the freedom movement. “Freedom21.com will give $2 monthly from every subscription fee to the organization, Internet news site, publication, or radio show of the subscriber’s choice to help fund those activities. That means your money will be working for your cause,” said DeWeese. “Above all, subscribers won’t be putting their Internet access subscription money into the pockets of those who scorn their beliefs and fund their enemies, as is the case with several of the major ISPs.”
A subscription to Freedom21.com is $15.99 per month for full dial-up service, including a nationwide network of local phone numbers and 24-hour per day technical service. Users of DSL and cable, or those who would like to stay with their current provider, may still participate in Freedom21.com through a monthly membership fee of $6.99. These members will still receive access to the email address, news, commentaries, action alerts, message board, while knowing that $2 of their membership fee will go to the organization of their choice.
“Those who carry a passion for the ideals of liberty, as described in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution will feel at home at Freedom.21.com. I hope they will join me in making it a powerful new tool to help fund and organize the freedom movement,” said DeWeese.
