Hillary, Obama and Katie Enter a Bar and ...

Sometimes I feel as if I am watching a cheap soap opera these days, with characters stumbling and falling all over themselves in a pathetic effort to seem relevant.

I find an eerie amusement in watching Hillary increasingly turn into her own Broadway cast, Obama unwittingly reveal his view that most Americans are idiotic hicks and Katie Couric remind us, yet again, of just how pathetic American journalism has become.

Now that I think of it, this cheap soap opera is sounding more like a bad joke.

Hillary Becomes Sybil-ized

The name Sybil has become synonymous with split personalities, living life with a veritable cast of characters inside one’s head.  While those who have known Hillary for many years can attest to her large collection of masks, it is only now that the media’s love affair with the Clintons has waned that we see the sheer audacity and absurdity of this Clintonian array of characters.

While there is no doubt that Bubba himself is owner of a few masks, that of serious leader, smiling celebrity, thoughtful observer, good old boy, moral judge, indignant victim, apologetic sinner and, apparently, cigar aficionado, his collection is but a speck in comparison to his spouse’s vast array of personalities.

Former football star Herschel Walker’s recent claim that he has suffered from Multiple Personality Disorder, MPD, makes me wonder if Hillary does not suffer from the same affliction.  After all, Walker claims to have had numerous personalities, each with a name, hidden within him mind, ready to leap at any time.  We have certainly seen Hillary’s cast of characters jump to the fore.

We have Sniper Target, Diplomatic Messiah, Good Samaritan, Biblical Scholar, Legislative Guru, Military Expert, Hunter, Idealist, Finger Pointer, Friendly Neighbor, Listener, Jewish Princess, African-American Mama, Latino Amiga, Problem Solver, Hidden Vulgarity, Loyal Wife, Ruthless Politician, Closet Elitist, Closet Socialist, and who knows what else.

Apparently, some of her personalities have names, like Sir Edmund for the absurd tale of how she was named, Eleanor when she tries to sell yet another new deal, Mother Hillary when she pretends to have been buddies with a living saint or Tammy when she stands by her man.

The more I think about it, the more convinced I become that even when she is driving alone, Hillary should be allowed to use the HOV lane.

Obama’s Bitter Pill

The next member of our tragic trio is Barack Obama, presently dating the mainstream media, who seem excited at the prospect of being asked to the prom.  Obama’s recent private comment that small-town voters are not flocking to him in droves because they are bitter and clinging to guns, religion and biases should be more amusing than surprising to anyone with any clue about typical elitist liberalism.

I do not know which is funnier, Obama’s unwittingly revealing comments or Hillary’s quick effort to paint him as precisely what she also is but is much more careful at hiding.

We have long known that most liberals think that anyone who fails to vote liberal is a superstitious, narrow-minded, out-of-touch imbecilic hick out in the woods; physically, intellectually or both. They view religious fervor and faith as nothing more than chanting fools dancing around a fire or candle.  They see patriotic commoners as similar fools, dancing around a flag instead of that candle.  They are suspicious of anyone who refuses to accept anything that floats down the river only decorated with their approval which, for them, should be the only validation anything will ever need.

What I find most amusing about this accusation of “bitter clinging” to those things liberals hate is that, if anyone, it is liberals who are bitter, as well they have the right to be.  After all, how would you feel if the only time you win anything is when the other side messes up and anytime people regain their senses you lose?  How would you feel if you spent your time whining into the wind, protesting about this and that, while most people simply ignored you or were too busy finding their dreams to pay any attention to your tired rhetoric?  At the end of the day, liberals only matter by convincing enough people that we should be miserable and, fortunately, most people eventually realize that being miserable gets us nowhere.

Clinging is sometimes defined as holding something very tightly, often out of ignorance, fear or insecurity.  Liberals accuse conservatives of clinging to things such as religion, patriotism and intolerance out of such weakness.  If truth be told, however, liberals are very adept at clinging to their views, beliefs and agenda out of ignorance, fear, insecurity and arrogance, and for often flimsy reasons.

Katie’s Breathless Journalism

When Katie Couric was given the keys to the CBS News kingdom, I predicted that she would fail, and that CBS would try to save face by offering her a slot on 60 Minutes.

To my amusement, this very possibility was recently mentioned as rumors of Couric’s nearing departure from the CBS anchor seat began to spread.

The mainstream media has been liberal for some time, but it is a testament to just how pathetically and shamelessly obvious that liberalism has become that Couric even rose to the same position that another liberal, Walter Cronkite, once held.  Few were aware of Cronkite’s political persuasion since he did a decent job of hiding it behind his duties. Dan Rather represented a sad slide toward a more obvious, blatant partisan reporting which ultimately contributed to his downfall.  Representing the tragic full circle, Katie Couric’s breathless, fawning; cheerleader liberal bias grew old much faster on network news than it ever did in the early morning pseudo-journalism she dominated for years.

Couric’s failure is not based on her liberalism, for it is that same liberalism that allowed her to rise in a profession where such political persuasions are a badge of honor and most likely a free pass.  She failed because she could not bring in the ratings to justify her contract.  America’s so-called sweetheart confused popularity talking about making pies with real journalistic teeth, and America has brought her back to reality.

If you listen to Couric, her CBS failure is due to people resisting change, bias against female anchors and a slew of other reasons other than the real ones, which are simply that she could not deliver the goods because she should have never been given the goods in the first place. Although the liberal media gets away with lots of blatant bias, unfair reporting and partisan favoritism, most of the public has not become so naïve as to confuse fawning adoration of Hillary Clinton or breathless bias toward liberal causes for solid journalism.

It appears, or so it seems, that the public expects politicians to kiss Fannies but dislikes having journalists who practice the same art.

Conclusion

Did you hear the one about Hillary, Obama and Katie entering a bar?  It seems that the three sat down for a few drinks.  Katie began fawning over Hillary and started her interview with “How does it feel to be a political goddess?” while Obama became angry because they were not being served, deciding that the bar owners must be racists.

The waitress finally came around and asked Hillary what she wanted to drink, to which Hillary responded “Why do I always have to order first?”  At this Hillary and Obama began to fight so the owner sent two bouncers to drag them out of the bar.  Katie jumped in to defend Hillary, and she too was carried off.

As the trio was thrown out the door, Hillary thought she heard sniper fire, Obama yelled “Let my people go!” and Katie asked Obama “How long have you been black?”

Another day, another bar, another bad joke.
