Democrats' Nominee Choice is Pathetic Either Way

The more you think about it, the more absurd the Democrats’ two options for Presidential Nominee become.  On one hand, you have Al Sharpton after Weight Watchers and a Harvard education wearing a tuxedo and, on the other hand, you have the Fairy Godmother ready to tell another fable to her adoring, naïve fans.

The Three Faces of Hate

Will someone please tell me the difference between Al Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright and Barack Obama?   The first two claim to be men of the cloth, yet spend much of their time spewing hatred and mockery toward white people, going ballistic at any notion of injustice toward African-Americans while ignoring any example of that same issue toward whites.  Most importantly, the third one seems to have many of the same beliefs simply concealed beneath a veneer of suave smiles.

I will not bore the reader with the tons of examples of how Al Sharpton has promoted violence, used race baiting to further his own agenda and driveled enough hypocrisy to last a lifetime.  Suffice it to say that while Imus deserved what he got for his idiotic comment regarding the Rutgers team one year ago, at least Imus has shown some remorse, regret, humility and sorrow for what he said.  I challenge anyone to find one example of Sharpton doing the same regarding any of the divisive, hateful and unjust things he has done in the name of his agenda, be it the Tawana Brawley incident, the Duke Lacrosse fiasco, the Crown Heights riots or the eight deaths resulting from a 1995 arson attack on a Harlem Jewish jeweler.

I find it appalling and absurd that the media has appointed this man as any sort of “civil rights leader” who would qualify, much less dare, to stand in judgment of anyone’s racist remarks.  Anyone wishing to see how ridiculous this society has become need only realize that it has no problem with the likes of Al Sharpton demanding an apology from anyone regarding anything.

As for Jeremiah Wright, one again finds no need to review what has already been revealed.  Here we have a man whose speeches drip with hatred toward this country and Israel, whose comments accuse America of unspeakable evil while ignoring or defending the evil of its enemies, and whose rants reveal an utter disgust with America best exemplified by his call that God should not bless America but should “damn America for killing innocent people.”

Finally, we reach the media’s darling, Barack Obama.  Here we have a man who aspires to be this nation’s leader while wearing his inexperience to lead as a badge of honor and who, in the wise observation of people such as Ed Koch, cannot even convincingly denounce Wright without revealing a much deeper agreement and sympathy for many of Wright’s rants  http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/challenges.php?id=1387.

Koch rightly asks how one can expect Obama to effectively deal with America’s enemies beyond its borders when he cannot even effectively answer her enemies within her borders.

Koch is particularly disgusted with the way Obama threw his own white grandmother under the bus, characterizing her past fears of black people as the reaction of a “typical white person” when, Koch notes; even Jesse Jackson has described similar experiences to those of Obama’s grandmother.  Koch observes that, instead of practicing the unity he loves to mention by recognizing, dealing with and moving beyond such fears toward unity, Obama chose to take the easy way out and simply describe them as yet another example of white ignorance.

Many have observed how Sharpton led the charge to have Imus fired one year ago despite the fact that he has been guilty of far greater racism than Imus ever was.  These same people also note that Obama demanded that Imus be immediately fired and denounced him very passionately and publicly despite the fact that he had not done the same with Wright now.  People may overlook misjudgment through passion.  They might even look the other way at unfair judgment through bias.  However, any sane, fair and reasonable observer has to be disgusted at the sort of blatant, selective and biased hypocrisy that allows any person to denounce, demand removal and express disgust over one man’s racist comment while ignoring, forgiving, condoning or defending another man’s much longer history of such racism.

While it is true that America has a long way to go to reach racial justice and unity, the America that Jeremiah Wright rants about, Al Sharpton benefits from and Barack Obama coyly implies is an image designed to validate their combined claims, justify their continued viability and do anything but bring about the unity that at least Obama claims to be his goal.  Here we have an obvious hater of America who makes no bones about his views in Wright, an obvious show biz race baiter who makes no bones about his love of publicity in Sharpton and, in Obama, one who obviously condones and defends much of what Wright and Sharpton spew but is intelligent enough to know that he must repackage the message if he ever wants to get near the White House.

I wonder who is more dangerous; the obvious fool who reveals his agenda or the sly sophisticate who tries to conceal it with smiles and GQ style.  There are so many great and noble African-Americans and people of all races who could lead this nation. That Democrats present us with Barack Obama says much more about their Party than it does about the rich diversity and variety of talent of all races and cultures that this nation offers.

Once Upon a Time

If Barack Obama seems an increasingly absurd choice for leader of this nation, then what can we say about his rival, Hillary Clinton, which has not already been said.  Here we have a woman who has shown an obsessive, ruthless ambition that knows no bounds, whose hypocrisy has not yet found any reasonable limits and who has shown a glaring propensity to fabricate and exaggerate in a pathetic effort to concoct experience from dust and the ability to lead from the propensity to bully.

We already know of Hillary’s lies regarding her military, Biblical, baseball and hunting expertise, to name a few fairy tales.  We have already heard her become Jewish, African-American and Latino whenever necessary and convenient.  She has implied an association with Mother Teresa that her camp later had to step away from.  In fact, it seems that Hillary Clinton consistently implies an association with truth and reality that facts force her to constantly step away from.  I personally love the one where she tells us that she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary, the recently deceased climber.  The only problem is that she was born, and named, while Sir Edmund was a relative unknown.  I guess either her family had special connections to the mountain climbing establishment or, maybe, she just “misremembered” as Roger Clemens would say or simply “misspoke”.

Speaking of “misspeaking”, we have the latest fable from the Democratic Party’s fiction expert, Hillary Clinton.  It seems that she has told people that she landed under enemy fire during a 1996 trip to Bosnia as first lady.  She has used this particular fable as an example of her “foreign policy experience”.  The trouble is, numerous witnesses and even CBS news footage contradict her fabrication.  The footage shows a smiling and waving Hillary, accompanied by her daughter Chelsea, greeting Bosnia’s acting president and an 8-year-old girl.  On numerous occasions, Clinton has embellished that landing, often times making it appear that she was literally exposed to danger in the interest of world peace.  http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080325/ap_on_el_pr/clinton_bosnia

It should not be a major surprise that Hillary Clinton has exaggerated her role in any international situation.  After all, I recently read where she has often said that she was involved in helping peace efforts in Northern Ireland while those involved say that her role was to smile a lot.  I had a friend who once described his five years as a newspaper delivery boy as being a “newspaper distribution manager”.  It is apparent that my friend attended the Hillary Clinton School of Exaggeration and Fabrication.

When push comes to shove, Hillary Clinton’s domestic and international experience, while greater than Barack Obama’s (no great standard there), is nowhere near as great and extensive as she paints it to be.  Her “involvement”, “participation” and “background” in foreign affairs mostly turns out be a lot of smiling, waving and watching.  I guess I was involved, participated and have an extensive plumbing background because I watched my plumber fix a pipe the other day.

Clinton associate and adviser James Carville recently denounced New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, once a member of Bill Clinton’s Cabinet, as “Judas” for Richardson’s endorsement of Barack Obama.  I guess we can expect Hillary to soon come out with a photo of her shaking hands with Jesus Christ over the caption “One Crucified Savior greets Another.”

Conclusion

John McCain is certainly not an ideal Republican or conservative candidate.  He certainly has questionable positions and history on a number of fronts, including illegal immigration.  However, one must look at what the other camp is ready to offer us.

On one hand, they offer an inexperienced GQ man who has shown an alarming hesitation to denounce obvious, blatant racism and anti-American rants thereby leading one to believe that, at least at some level, he agrees with, condones or justifies such content. Likewise, this man has shown selective outrage regarding racism; quickly, publicly and passionately denouncing it and calling for immediate dismissal for a shock jock’s racist joke while showing much more restraint, caution, discretion and tolerance for his own pastor’s vile racism.  He has also failed to properly respond to his own wife’s ungrateful and disgraceful public repudiation of the very nation that provided her with the success and opportunity she has enjoyed.

On the other hand, Democrats offer us a woman who sells more compost than all the farmers this great nation has to offer.  She has told so many tall tales, spewed so much fabricated drivel as truth and offered herself as so qualified and experienced on so many flimsy grounds as to invite amazement if not sheer wonder.  Apparently, she considers smiling and waving as intense involvement in foreign affairs.  Apparently, she believes that one can wear background and history like a hat, switching and flipping from one brand to another as needed.  Apparently, this wife of Bill Clinton and participant in the intrigue of the Clinton Administration has no problem pointing fingers of accusation and deception at everyone else.  Apparently, Hillary Clinton believes that enough, if not most, voters are idiots.

Obama or Clinton, Clinton or Obama; either way you go, it is more a question of picking your poison than picking a bright future for this nation.  As for believing that enough, if not most, voters are idiots, I guess we will have to wait until November.
