The Narrow Path To Reviving Conservatism
MichNews.com-- In their typically duplicitous fashion, Republican “moderates” who orchestrated this latest electoral catastrophe are once again blaming the lingering vestige of conservatism in the McCain campaign as the factor that ultimately doomed its prospects. This forked-tongue political ploy is certainly nothing new, but instead represents the standard tactics of the Republican moderates whenever they assert their presence within the Party. Move to the left, attempt to be as much like the Democrats as possible (ostensibly at a lower cost), and then blame conservatism when voters reject the scam.

The Grim Significance of the 2008 Elections
MichNews.com-- Perhaps the most disheartening reaction to the November 4 election of Barack Obama has been the attempt by conservatives to laud his victory as some sort of worthy racial milestone in American history. This lame effort to find conciliatory ground with the far left will ultimately prove futile. Worse yet, it lends an air of credibility to a malignant and corrupt political machine that threatens the very future of America and thus deserves no such tribute.

2008 Election Aftermath: Rethinking The "Big Tent"
MichNews.com-- As a result of this week’s elections, the Republican minority caucus in the United States Senate currently represents the sole remnant of a “firewall” against an uncontrolled implementation of the liberal agenda. With less than a sixty-vote Democrat majority needed to force a vote on any issue, a Republican filibuster is the only means by which the left can be stalled from its overarching and despotic expansion of government intrusion into the lives of the citizenry. So if the filibuster is the only manner in which Republicans can exercise opposition to the left, it should be enthusiastically touted and employed as such.

Joe The Plumber's Audacity To Hope
MichNews.com-- It is a safe bet that Barack Obama will never again engage “Joe the Plumber” or anyone like him in a discussion of policy without “preconditions.” Some things are just too dangerous to the future of liberal America to be left to chance.

America At The Tipping Point In 2008
MichNews.com-- It is by no means severe to point out that if leftists were wise and rational, they would not be leftists. Vladimir Lenin, the Soviet Union’s first dictator and an icon of the left, aptly described its devotees as “useful idiots,” owing to their enthusiastic and mindless devotion to causes that invariably would lead to their own destruction. Furthermore, it must be constantly reiterated that such minions only remain “useful” to the leadership as long as they remain, well, idiots.

Exploding The Myths of "Predatory Lending"
MichNews.com-- In a blatant example of political grandstanding rooted in sheer audacity, leaders of the Democrat Party are seeking to gain as much mileage as possible from the nation’s economic woes. Worst of all is that they are doing so by incessantly blaming the situation on such easily refutable bogeymen as “greed on Wall Street” and “predatory lending.” Yet by their nearly hysterical repetitions of these straw dogs, they inadvertently reveal their inherent vulnerabilities on the issue. Sadly, Republicans are still not rising to the challenge of exposing the whole debacle for what it is.

The Sarah Palin Paradigm: Real Change
MichNews.com-- It is altogether appropriate that last April, when Barack Obama delivered his disparaging commentary in San Francisco about Americans who, in his opinion, “get bitter” and “cling to guns and religion” as a result of hardship, he specifically mentioned the good people of Pennsylvania. It was after all, a past generation of “bitter clingers” in Philadelphia two centuries ago who, looking around them and concluding that “change” was clearly in order, crafted the Declaration of Independence, committing everything they owned to the cause, and asserting a “firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence.”

Bailout Circus Highlights Totality of Democrat Corruption
MichNews.com-- By now it should be painfully obvious to all but the most myopic liberal pawns that their Democrat leadership is not concerned with America’s financial status, but is instead milking the situation for every bit of political advantage it might achieve for them. The effort to craft a Congressional “bailout” of the banking industry, so crucial for the economic future of the country (we are told) has decomposed into a series of phony crises, each one primarily intended to give credence to the Democrat presidential candidate or some foundational precept of liberalism. And in the end, the only result to date has been a bunch of partisan accusations and name-calling.

Obama's "Community Organizer" Experience In Perspective
MichNews.com-- A notion frequently advanced by conservatives during this year’s presidential race is that if elected, Barack Obama would not bring any useful experience to the White House as a result of his sparse political background, including among other dubious roles, that of being a “community organizer.” This idea is wrong in the extreme. As a direct result of his “community organizing” work, Obama garnered a huge store of expertise that promises to be extremely useful in implementing his agenda should he become president. But it is the nature of that agenda, and the means by which he intends to implement it, that should have Americans gravely concerned.

Palin Phenomenon Accelerates Downfall of Old Media
MichNews.com-- The 2004 contest between President Bush and Massachusetts Senator John Kerry marked the beginning of the end for the old media monopoly. On the one hand, clumsy media attempts to fabricate a story, complete with phony documents hastily fabricated using modern word-processing software, clearly indicated that CBS bigwig Dan Rather and his minions were stumping for Kerry. Meanwhile, the old media failed miserably in their shameless attempts to discredit the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth. That organization’s thoroughly documented evidence completely unraveled Kerry’s baseless claims of heroism in Vietnam. By so doing, the Swift Vets struck the fatal blow to his inept campaign.

Palin Attackers Really Aiming At McCain
MichNews.com-- Christopher G. Adamo -- It is high time that the mask comes off the ugly face of liberalism. Whenever it collides with reality, all those lofty sounding ideals from the left are revealed to be nothing more than empty rhetoric intended to manipulate their “useful idiots” who fulfill the role of expendable foot soldiers. If the mountains of evidence over the past half-century are not sufficient to make this case, the atrocious assaults on Alaska Governor Sarah Palin during the past two weeks ought to be.

Gustav's "Cat Five" Political Spin
MichNews.com-- Despite dire warnings that Hurricane Gustav might exceed the 2005 Hurricane Katrina nightmare in terms of damage, lives lost, and overall intensity, this latest storm to strike the Gulf Coast was barely a Category Two by the time it made landfall. Perhaps more significantly, it missed New Orleans by seventy miles which resulted in far less damage to that city.

A New "Cold War" Looms
MichNews.com-- Russian President Dimitri Medvedev has floated a not-so-subtle warning of Russia and the West descending into a new “Cold War,” the blame for which he places, in traditional Russian fashion, squarely on America. As a follow up, Vladimir Putin has since hinted at the possibility of a direct conflict between Russian and American naval forces in the Black Sea. If these events of the past few weeks are a reliable indication, the world may indeed see a replay of the harrowing years of Soviet aggression.

Defining Good and Evil In 2008 America
MichNews.com-- When asked by Rick Warren at the Saddleback forum about his beliefs on when human life begins, Democrat Presidential wannabe Barack Obama obfuscated, finally responding that the answer is “above my pay grade.” Obama apparently hoped to at once avoid criticism from any who would disagree with him if he got specific, while attempting to claim the moral “high ground” on the basis that he would leave such decisions to a higher authority.

"New" Energy Reform: Same Old Politics
MichNews.com-- Once again, the “greater good” has been served inside the Beltway, “bipartisanship” has broken a stalemate, the rancor over energy policy has ended and, as is always the case when such milestones are achieved, conservative America has been sold out. Somehow, Republicans never seem to figure out that when right and wrong attempt to find common ground with eachother, “right,” by design, will inevitably be the first casualty.

Obama Is Europe's "Vision" For America
MichNews.com-- Fawning over Barack Obama as they did during his recent overseas campaign swing, those cheering multitudes of Europeans said much more about themselves than they did about either Illinois Senator and Democrat presidential candidate or the best course to chart for the future of the United States. Somewhat surprisingly, and despite all of the dutiful and harmonious consensus of Obama’s lackeys in the American media, his campaign gained little credibility from the venture.

The "Fairness" Doctrine: America In The Balance
MichNews.com-- Lurking in the gloom of the Democrat agenda is a resuscitation of the so-called “Fairness Doctrine,” which would allow the federal government, at the behest of liberal special interests, to selectively harass and intimidate radio stations whose broadcasting format it finds objectionable. Thus, the proliferation of conservative talk-radio and virtually all of the alternative media would be threatened with eventual extinction.

Apollo 11: American Excellence Remembered
MichNews.com-- Sunday July 20, 2008 will likely be a fairly typical summer day in America. People will get up, go to Church, and maybe hold a barbeque in the back yard. Perhaps the more industrious amongst us will wash the family car. Calmness, serenity, and above all, normality will rule the day. And in a way, that is an awful shame.

Holding Liberals Accountable For Energy Woes
MichNews.com-- How long can Congressional Democrats hope to continue their anti-capitalist, anti-American agenda without facing accountability from the voting public? Current indicators are that they intend to hold firm on their signature issues, believing that the public will simply not recognize the correlation between their actions of recent years, and the horrendous economic fallout that ensued as a direct result. And nowhere can this relationship be seen more clearly than in the skyrocketing energy prices currently threatening to squeeze the vitality from the American middle class.
