Giving Marriage Back to the Church
MichNews.com-- Frank Salvato -- Across the country the issue of “gay marriage” is being debated, examined, voted on and legislated. Groups, both pro and con, have taken to the streets from Massachusetts and Connecticut to both ends of California to express their support and opposition to legislating finality to this issue. While the answer to this ideological impasse may indeed come from legislation, it may come in an unexpected form and require those on both sides of the issue to dial back on their own self-importance.

Are We Mad Or Just Blind To History?
MichNews.com-- Walter Pence -- I have often wondered how and why the once powerful German Jews, who at one time controlled the German banking system and much of the European economy, let themselves be oppressed and slaughtered by a movement that at the time it posted its 25 point program which included outright anti-Jewish agenda comprised of less then 2000 members. It has often been stated through the years that the Jewish people went quietly like sheep unto their slaughter. In the mist of my thought process on this subject, I have always believed that there must be events which I am unaware of and if known would explain their actions or possibly more correctly stated, lack of action. As I observed, the events of the last election, I began to wonder if it was because they are just simply liberal thinking people and as such ignored the negative aspects of the radical movement.

A Letter to My Wrestlers
MichNews.com-- Lee Culpepper -- Note to readers: I felt compelled to publish this letter because of the direction that half of America seems to want to take this country. Most of my wrestlers are new to the sport. Due to the hard work and tough nature that wrestling requires, more than 50% of the boys who attended the first practice quit within the first week. As an English teach also, I have seen the same lack of perseverance and work ethic in the classroom, and it saddens me. I don’t know that my philosophy is the answer to this problem. But I do know the answer does not exist in telling kids—or anyone-- that they “deserve” or are “entitled” to anything just because they are Americans. I also know that most of my athletes and students perform better when they take this message to heart.
