We have all heard of the race card. I know Barack Obama has. In fact, every Democratic candidate that has come down the road in the past three decades has used that card in one way or the other. Before we should forget, however, let us not ignore the fact that the infamous race card is just one of a whole deck of cards which liberals such as Barack Obama play with every day.
True Racism
If you ask me, it is racist to automatically assume that all decisions and results, good or bad, can be traced to racism. If you really want to fight racism, battle it where it exists; for sure, but also avoid spreading its twisted assumptions as well. To be racist is to find it impossible to ignore race when evaluating, analyzing or dealing with any situation or person. The racist person is permanently tied to a particular view or supposition about people based solely on their race.
So now we hear that, if Barack Obama should happen to lose, it will be because he is black. This is what his friends in the media are telling us a recent poll suggests. According to said poll, Obama is working from a 6% disadvantage based simply on his race and, in a close race as this could be, that could all the difference in the world.
The most amusing part of this declaration is that, should Obama win, these same people would never think of saying that he won because of his race. No, they will sing from the rooftops that Barack Obama won because “most” Americans realized that his policies and views were the best thing since sliced bread. It must be quite convenient to have a built-in excuse for losing (race) and a built-in glorification for winning (messiah).
The battle against racism is a struggle to reach the day when race does not enter into the equation. Liberals will laugh and say this day will never come yet, by saying so, they are merely perpetuating the evil which they feed from. That is precisely the problem. How can we expect liberals and their mascot media to ever stop perpetuating racism even as they pretend to battle it? After all, racial injustice pays liberals’ bills and feeds their egos. If you do not believe this, ask what folks like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be doing if there was perfect racial harmony and understanding in this society.
Even a cursory look at Democratic policy and platforms over the past decades reminds us of just what a cash and vote cow racism is for these people. Forget about teaching a man to fish so he can be independent; these people want to keep the fish away from the man so he keeps voting for them to supply him with daily fish.
We must fight racism, but it is contradictory and hypocritical to say we are fighting it while we actually perpetuate it for our own material, social and political gain. We must help the victims of violence and injustice, but it is likewise contradictory and hypocritical to say we are doing so while we actually allow the Left to victimize for profit, both off minorities and the unborn.
Should Barack Obama win, I will be willing to say that he did so because enough people in enough key states favored his views. Should he lose, however, I challenge the Left to ever admit that it is because most of the time, enough Americans will decide that the Left’s way is not their own. My bet is that most liberals are too cowardly to ever risk such a public admission that they, contrary to their proud delusions and illusions, do not have all the answers.
The Rest of The Deck
If the race card is the most popular item in the Left’s deck, it is by far not the only one. Liberals such as Barack Obama love to play the victim card, inferred to above. This card allows them to ascribe, manipulate and profit from victimization. Just look at half the Democrats’ crusades over the past decades and most of their so-called social, religious and civil rights leaders. Invariably, the common denominator is some victim group of the month, ushered in and out as deemed convenient, valuable only insofar as said group garners votes and public relations points.
Another card is unfairness, which usually leads to whining from those who play it. One need only remember Hillary whining about how Obama was given a pass while she was grilled or how Obama pouts on cue whenever he feels the volume of journalists kissing his feet drop below a dozen.
Yet another is poverty and the rich, where the Left labels itself the champion of the oppressed, marginalized and voiceless and the Right the protector of the powerful, influential, pompous and rich. Never mind that this charade and fable does not extend to the unborn, the most marginalized and voiceless victims of all whose genocide the Left has turned into a mission.
Yet another card is the immigration card, wherein the Left conveniently lumps illegal immigrants with legal ones to then declare any opposition to the latter as simply opposition to all immigration. We also have the feminist card, wherein half the items on the Left’s to-do list suddenly become mystically tied to women’s rights. Never mind the many non-partisan and even liberal observers who cite the National Organization of Women’s recent declaration of opposition to Sarah Palin as making no sense from a woman’s rights view given Barack Obama’s own spotty record in many areas such as equal pay.
Still another card popular with the Left is the environmental card, wherein Al Gore and numerous celebrities preach to us about conservation while living in large houses, rolling in all sorts of excess and leaving a so-called carbon footprint that Big Foot would envy. These people speak of the inconvenient truth while conveniently lying and violating their own drivel.
Still another card is the evil empire card, wherein liberals tell us that America is this evil and sinister place which has only brought about death, destruction and injustice in the world. Never mind that America has been the greatest nation on earth and is the best thing that ever happened to freedom. It is no wonder that so many of these people have only recently been able to dig up some pride for the nation which has given them so much.
The final card we will mention here is the intellect card, wherein liberals remind us at every turn just how profound, intelligent, talented, perceptive and creative they are and how backward, superficial, stupid, untalented, dull, gullible and intolerant we are. Never mind that half the time these same people either stick their foot in their mouth or otherwise blab on thinking that half of what they say actually makes sense. Just look at Barbara Streisand declaring that liberal women are not stupid enough to overlook the choice of Sarah Palin as simply a gender ploy. This while defending and supporting a man in Barack Obama who has just recently begun pretending to give a hoot about Christianity, at least long enough to get into a position where he can really stamp it out, or who preaches the Right about equal pay for women while paying women who work for him less than John McCain does.
Conclusions
Certain that this will qualify as the shortest conclusion I have ever written, I need only say that, considering that most liberals are not playing with a full deck, they sure do have a lot of cards to play with, don’t they?
