Bill Moyers' newest Tet Offensive: An investigative analysis
By Doug Schmitz
MichNews.com

May 2, 2007

Just when you thought Bill Moyers had retired to the couch, he returns to PBS with more federally-subsidized neo-Marxist propaganda aimed at smearing President Bush and the Iraq War and the New Media.  So it looks like David Brancaccio – host of Moyers’ anti-U.S. septic tank, “NOW” – will have to share his corner of PBS’s Soros-financed swamp.

“I do know that Moyers has, for years, been heavily involved with people like George Soros and the Far Left,” said Bill O’Reilly (on the April 25, 2007 edition of “The O’Reilly Factor”), whom Moyers has used to gratuitously lie about Fox News and the rest of the New Media in Moyers’ own brazen promotion of his anti-U.S. series.

“Yet PBS is paying him to produce documentaries that are purported to be “objective.”  Bill Moyers is not objective, has a problem with the truth, and should no longer be receiving taxpayer money.  And that is the truth,” added O’Reilly, who said Moyers declined several invitations to appear on his show, rated number one on cable television.

Like all anti-American media leftists, Moyers’ self-proclaimed mandate to proselytize the Earth with the same old, tired Stalinist drivel is relentless in scathing attacks on the Bush administration, Republicans (except RINOs), our U.S. military, conservatism, capitalism and genuine, Biblical Christianity.  Yet, Moyers’ deleterious media malpractice always manages to slip under the mainstream media’s radar, free of any ethical or moral liability – except from the real journalists of the New Media, which Moyers has grown to despise.

But as commissioner of PBS’s thought police, Moyers is just one of a growing number of today’s Joseph Goebbels’, Walter Durantys and Herbert Matthews’ of the Far Left who are systematically elevating the vitriolic, anti-American rhetoric specifically designed for the political and personal destruction of the Bush administration – and the demolition of American values during a time of war, as Moyers continues to lie to his captive viewers.

“As a member of the narrow, unrepresentative elite group that has spent hundreds of millions of dollars over the last decade trying to ram leftist propaganda down the throats of unsuspecting millions, Moyers and his friends have betrayed the citizens of this country in their battle to advance an anti-capitalist, anti-American agenda so wicked that the “citizens” Moyers refers to would surely reject it outright if they knew the truth,” wrote Jean Pearce of Frontpagemag.com (March 6, 2003).

In effect, some of today’s other kook fringe prevaricators have already been willingly echoing Moyers’ blatantly subversive, anti-American sentiments: Former Los Angeles Times columnist and Gucci Marxist, Robert Scheer; MSNBC’s raving lunatic and in-house Stalinist, Keith Olbermann; the long-time terrorist safe havens of CNN and the New York Times; and the Far Left’s cyber- Trojan horses, Truthout.org and Salon.com.  Olbermann, a Salon.com columnist, could well be Moyers’ ideological mascot, with the MSNBC leftist limiting his fake news program to fellow propagandists and perennial guests like Newsweek’s Richard Wolfe and Congressional Quarterly’s Craig Crawford.

Despite our U.S. military being on the very cusp of victory in Iraq, Moyers and his leftist cohorts are spending what’s left of their miserable careers feverishly plotting America’s defeat by what amounts to nothing more than pseudo-journalistic terrorism as they create a climate of abject fear, solely based on serial falsehoods instead of the truth.

In fact, in Buying the War, Moyers breathlessly claimed in yet another one of his psychotic rants against Bush, the Iraq War and the New Media that Fox News and Rush Limbaugh were a greater danger to our nation than the actual threat of global terrorism.

For the first time in our history, we had this wall-to-wall ideological right-wing press – Fox News, the talk radio, the Weekly Standard – that not only mongered for war along with the administration, not only embraced the administration’s policies because they were quote, “conservative,” including going to war,” Moyers ranted in the first of a series of toxic, “60 Minutes”-style broadsides against Bush, the Iraq War and the Mew Media.

“[But] [they] also mounted a slime machine to discredit any journalist who dared to stand against the official view of reality.  Rather himself says on my show, “They have a slime machine and we know it,” claimed Moyers’ fellow media fraud, Dan Rather, who tried to destroy Bush before the 2004 election with bogus memos more than likely forged by Kerry campaign operatives, bent on rigging and stealing the 2004 presidential election.  After all, Rather and ex-CBS producer Mary Mapes spent five years on the non-story.

It’s this kind of unbridled hatred that has plunged Moyers into an ethical dementia and shameless treason as he repackages his archaic neo-Marxism to re-sell to oftentimes unsuspecting buyers.  Self-appointed as the ultimate purveyor of what he thinks is truth, Moyers, like Rather, still refuses to face reality about his intellectual dishonesty that he has eagerly pedaled as “investigative journalism” on the paradox of “public television.”

But hoping something would stick, like Rather did with the bogus memos, Moyers throws his anti-American Samizdat out there in a traitorous attempt to dissuade otherwise loyal Americans and bolster fellow noxious pontificators on the Far Left.  To the intellectually honest, however, Moyers’ motives have always been transparent: Masquerading his treason as “reporting” in unabashed sympathy for America’s enemies.

MOYERS’ FANTASY: OVERTHROWING GOP WHITE HOUSES

While Moyers has been vehemently trying to overthrow every Republican administration in classic Bob Woodward- and Dan Rather-style, Watergate-motivated hit pieces, he’s more than likely forged alliances with anti-U.S. despots who, like Rather, also fervidly hate America and the beloved nation of Israel.

In retrospect, Moyers – who once worked for Lyndon Johnson and knew of the FBI’s secret surveillance of Martin Luther King, Jr. because of unsubstantiated claims that King was murdered due to an alleged U.S. government conspiracy – has been well-versed in virtually every politics-of-personal-destruction tactic aimed at his ideological opponents.

“In 1965, when Moyers was promoted from President Johnson’s propaganda minister to Press Secretary, Moyers again found himself torn,” wrote Lowell Ponte of FrontPagemag.com (Dec. 13, 2004).  “He loved power and the glow of being the voice of the White House.  But as an increasingly-leftwing ideologue, he found it more and more difficult to go before the press to defend the President’s war policies in Vietnam.”

Thomas Lifson of AmericanThinker.com (May 16, 2005) agreed with Ponte about Moyers’ sick obsession with – and questionable tactics in – silencing conservatism.

“Bill Moyers, the former LBJ hatchet man and left wing ideologue, is attacking those who seek to rescue PBS and NPR from their leftward lurch toward death,” Lifson wrote.  “For decades, PBS and NPR have violated the law which requires they be “strictly fair, objective and balanced.

“In the age of satellite radio, hundreds of cable channels, and limitless options on the web, we don’t need public broadcasting to bring culture to all Americans,” he added.  “Even less do we need an unaccountable leftist media establishment consuming our tax dollars to propagandize us.”

Thus, the return of Moyers’ screeds to PBS is also the return of his anti-U.S. anarchy of the lowest, despicable form – subsidized by the federal government, as well as the deep pockets of billionaire and anti-American Socialist, George Soros – a convicted insider-trader of offshore hedge funds, an admitted marijuana user and committed Bush-hater.

Over the course of nearly 50 years, Moyers has morphed from the “Great Society” welfare-sponsored leftism he honed as a Johnson’s puppy dog to the Open Society Institute, where he’s been Soros’ willing anti-American, Socialist, neo-Marxist lapdog.

For instance, as head of the $75 million Schumann Foundation, Moyers funneled about $500,000 to Media Matters – a Far Left, Soros-funded front that fabricates stories about the New Media and is fanatic in its psychopathic obsession with and witch hunt of Fox News.  Like Soros, Moyers wants America to be a Communist Utopia, where the only views heard are the hysterical rants of America-haters like himself.  As witnessed by his egomaniacal “NOW,” conservatism isn’t only unwelcome, it’s severely suppressed.

“Moyers’s difficulty conversing with people on the Right seems to have impaired his ability to report their opinions fairly, particularly on issues of race,” wrote the National Review’s Stephen Hayes (“PBS’s Televangelist,” Feb. 25, 2002) of Moyers, who has outrageously compared those of us conservative Republicans to the Taliban.

So with Moyers’ newest and heavily-financed endeavor, it’ll be Michael Moore all over again when Moyers starts rolling out more denigrating diatribes that falsely depict the U.S. as imperialistic, Bush as tyrannical, our U.S. military as torturers – and Stalinist rogue states as negotiable allies, instead of bloodthirsty enemies of the United States.

But that’s what Moyers had hoped to accomplish with his first anti-Bush hit piece, Buying the War, as part of his new series, Bill Moyers’ Journal, on the nearly Soros-owned PBS.  And it’s also what makes Moyers so dangerous.  To Moyers, facts don’t matter and have no place in his maniacal corner of the globe; as long as he can spread his disinformation to as many ill-informed individuals as humanly possible, he’s content.  But cross Moyers by exposing his deliberate disingenuousness, and you’re his next target.

MOYERS’ NEW TET OFFENSIVE: RE-PACKAGING NEO-MARXISM

In effect, like Walter Cronkite summarily declaring American defeat in Vietnam – and leftist Democrat Harry Reid’s claiming the Iraq War is “lost,” this is Moyers’ own Tet Offensive as our nation enters a crucial turning point in history as Democrats wave the white flag of surrender to our enemies.  Media leftists like Moyers have desperately tried to defeat America as they become the latest terrorist whisperers, wooing these barbarians to target more U.S. troops with every keystroke and TelePrompTer reading.

As Moyers continues to work against America, he, like Cronkite and Reid, will have more blood on his hands if he’s left aided and abetted by his willing cohorts in the Big Media, as well as limp-wristed conservatives like Tucker Carlson and Joe Scarborough, who have been more concerned with appeasing their leftist employers than growing a spine.  In their buckling to leftist producers, they give openly tacit consent to the Far Left.

As a result, Moyers, who’s nothing more than a self-indulgent, narcissistic anarchist who foists his anti-U.S., neo-Marxism on the politically ignorant, continues to manipulate them via disingenuous trickery – all with our tax dollars and Soros’ dirty money.

“All PBS has become is welfare for activist has-beens,” said Brent Bozell, Media Research Center (MRC) president (April 24, 2007).  “Their editorial rationale is self-incriminating.  They subject viewers to the fanatical work of [leftists] like Bill Moyers, using viewers’ tax money and airwaves to peddle Moyers’ notion that the [leftist] media coverage of the Iraq war wasn’t [leftist] enough.”

So what little is left of Moyers’ conscience is reserved for promoting his odious rants that have no basis in fact, much less, reality, which is what props him up – besides, of course, the millions of corporate- and federally-sanctioned funds, which also are the only things keeping his neo-Marxism ideology on perpetual resuscitation.  As much as Moyers rants in his endless witch hunts about Bush, Halliburton and capitalism, he himself has immensely profited from both and has enjoyed its forbidden fruit to his chagrin.

But, at the same time, while claiming to dispel the “evils” of free-enterprise, Moyers, in effect, cloaks his so-called investigative “reporting” in deliberate innuendo, fabrication and Communist Pravda, sprinkled with vitriolic anti-Semitism from his pathological podium of doom and gloom.

McCARTHY WAS AN AMERICAN HERO; MOYERS IS A TRAITOR

Eventually, Moyers’ totalitarian odium for even the slightest Biblical truth is nothing more than declaring good, evil and evil, good.  It’s a perverted, leftist form of McCarthyism.  After all, Joe McCarthy was a patriot and an American hero for exposing Communism in the deepest, darkest elements of government, Hollywood and even the “news” media, which tried to destroy him.  While McCarthy exposed the Soviet threat, Moyers has been abusing McCarthyism to slander, smear and demonize innocent men.

Despite holding a divinity degree, Moyers’ caustic atheism seeps out of every vicious diatribe, which, of course, has made him a darling of the Far Left; it has made him virtually innocuous to any thoroughly investigative scrutiny by his ideological bedfellows in the mainstream and leftist media.

Like the pompous Dan Rather, Moyers’ lofty position in the multi-million-dollar, gated communities of the left-wing media bubble has shielded him from all interrogation.

“Torn between whether to serve the Prince of Peace or the Prince of this World, Moyers chose the latter and has given his soul to the dark side of power ever since,” Ponte wrote.

This is what Moyers tries to employ in order to either persuade or dissuade the politically ignorant: Paganism, which is at the very root of the godlessness of Communism, neo-Marxism and Stalinism.  In fact, according to neo-Marxist ideology, an individual’s freedom to think for himself is non-existent and replaced by groupthink class order.  In Moyers’ eyes, “truth” is dependent on what self-aggrandized hedonists like Moyers say it is – which comes almost word for word from fellow pagan, Karl Marx.

In fact, Moyers could very well have gotten his life-long leftist ideology that has forever framed his career directly from the closing statement of the Communist Manifesto:

The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims.  They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions.  Let the ruling classes tremble at a communist revolution.  The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains.  They have a world to win.  Working men of all countries, unite!”

In Moyers’ sick, twisted neo-Marxist universe, the individual doesn’t have the capacity nor the capability to rationalize his own surroundings apart from allowing self-imposed info-tyrants like himself to tell them what is, is.  As a self-appointed arbiter of “truth” – much like the Joseph Goebbels of CNN and the New York Times, Moyers’ leftist folklore is completely dependent on uninformed viewers buying into his serial lies and deception.

MOYERS RUNNING SCARED OF FREE THOUGHT, NEW MEDIA

To Moyers, individual cognition is never allowed or tolerated, which is exactly why he harbors such hatred and animosity towards free thought, which embodies conservatism – and that alone scares Moyers.  It’s because conservatism is defined by the individual liberty to do what is right – even when no one else does – and when no one is looking.  In neo-Marxist thought, individuals aren’t supposed to think or act separate from the self-appointed propagator, of which Moyers believes he is, as psychopathic as it may sound.

However, once a so-called messenger of “truth” like Moyers is exposed for who he really is, he has to racket up the promulgation in order to maintain the illusion of control, whether or not he is in control of his own mental and intellectual faculties.  After all, narcissists like Moyers will never fully relinquish control of power in his increasingly shrinking corner of the leftist media propaganda mechanization because that would mean he would run the risk of the individual discovering the ability to think for him- or herself.

But this is exactly what is key to deconstructing Moyers’ facade: His fear of individual liberty, which scares all neo-Marxists.  As long as Moyers believes he has the power and authority to control the message, he retains control and is able to manipulate the uninformed.  But since he has essentially lost that control through the New Media of Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge, his neo-Marxist mindset is self-destructing before his very eyes.  As long as individuals can see past his journalistic debauchery, Moyers will continue to be exposed as one of the biggest media frauds of all time.  This certainly explains Moyers’ unhinged rage towards Fox News and conservative talk radio.

For instance, Moyers complained to his fellow leftist colleague Tavis Smiley on Smiley’s low-rated show on April 26, 2007 that “Fox News has so poisoned the meaning of fair and balanced that I can’t even understand those terms anymore, but anybody who watches this documentary will see that we lay out the evidence.”

Although Smiley did occasionally challenge Moyers, the MRC’s Tim Graham wrote in his April 27 analysis that Smiley allowed Moyers to flatly accuse the Bush administration of becoming a “burglar in the basement” that the watchdog media didn’t bark at, or if you prefer, the media was the fire department, and Team Bush was the “arsonist.”  In fact, he charged “the press was in cahoots with the arsonist,” which was a likely dig at Fox News.

Therefore, it’s not surprising that Moyers is so blinded by his leftist biases that he can’t see what has made Fox News the number one cable news network in the nation.  The genius of Fox News is employing more liberal anchors and inviting on liberal guests than CNN and MSNBC employs conservative anchors and invites on us conservatives.

Like a thorn in Moyers’ side, Fox News and Rush Limbaugh are two of Moyers’ primary targets because, again, Moyers has lost full control of his message – thankfully.  Because of the New Media, Moyers can no longer hide behind the very mainstream media and leftist press that had brought him to prominence.  Like Dan Rather, Moyers is being taken to task for the first time in his deplorable career and being held accountable for his lies.

As a result, Moyers has been viciously going after anyone – primarily we conservatives and Republicans – who disagrees with him and attempts to expose his reckless chicanery, which is what’s so dangerous about the so-called “Fairness” Doctrine that leftist Democrats like Dennis Kucinich want to see it congressionally and legally implemented.

THE “FAIRNESS” DOCTRINE’S GOAL: SILENCING CONSERVATISM

In this leftist edict, it seeks to ultimately silence conservatism – and its main targets will likely be Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, as well as Matt Drudge.

“The left wing is in a panic right now,” Lifson wrote of Moyers and the Far Left.  “They see that conservative ideas are taking hold, now that alternative media voices exist, and the public can hear more than simply the left wing line.  They are responding with fury, trying to choke off the new alternative voices, with their attacks of Fox, the blogosphere, and talk radio (the “fairness doctrine” is being talked up).”

But if the so-called “Fairness” Doctrine applies to anyone, it definitely applies to Moyers.  Although Moyers duplicitously decries Fox News and conservative talk radio, he’s the one who’s been unfair and unbalanced as he presents hysterically one-sided fomentations.  Like Dan Rather and the useful idiots on CNN and MSNBC, Moyers and PBS lack the intellectual honesty, moral integrity and spine to tell the truth, which is why Ronald Reagan had the tremendous foresight to get rid of this ridiculous “Fairness” Doctrine.

For example, PBS executives shelved Frank Gaffney’s well-balanced documentary, Islam vs. Islamists: Voices from the Muslim Center, about centrist Muslims because they claimed that the film “[did] not meet the standards necessary for airing on their stations.”

“Why?  Because they can – and that makes the words ‘public television’ an oxymoron,” Bozell said.  “What PBS and Moyers should own up to is not having the backbone to allow a balanced, viable, perspective to stand on its own two feet because it clashes with their fringe ideology.”

When Moyers co-hosted “NOW” with fellow leftist David Brancaccio, his guests were only those who emphatically shared his Far Left demagoguery; no one on the Right has ever been given the opportunity to present a fair and balanced counterpoint.  Like Moyers’ fellow leftist Keith Olbermann, if there were guests who claimed to represent the Right, they were RINOs with political axes to grind with the Bush administration, while conservatives were nowhere to be found.  In Moyers’ neo-Marxist world, there’s no room for discussion on both sides because it wouldn’t fit into his anti-U.S. agenda.

Likewise, Moyers’ Far Left mindset – like the aging leftist charlatans on “60 Minutes” – doesn’t allow leftist corruption to be exposed because Moyers is too steeped in his own corruption – even now as his personal Berlin Wall he’s tried to rebuild around his Communist Pravda is closing in on him as his duplicity crumbles via the New Media.

It’s because of Moyers’ relentless neo-Marxism buffoonery – left widely unchecked by the Big Media – that has resulted in the much-welcomed rise of the New Media.  For nearly 60 years, the leftist media have enjoyed the privileges of free press and speech, which have also gone mainly unchallenged.  Moyers himself has rivaled in his unprecedented ability to write and say anything he wants to without the slightest peep from the Big Media.  But it was only when the New Media of Fox News, conservative talk radio and Matt Drudge rose up to counter Moyers’ dishonesty that he now cries foul.

So it also was no surprise that fellow anti-American leftist Dan Rather was essentially cavorting with Moyers in a visceral and hate-driven attack on the Bush administration, the U.S. military, the Iraq War, conservative talk radio and the blogosphere.  When Rather willingly participated in what would be the first of Moyers’ anti-U.S. propaganda pieces, Rather essentially reaffirmed what we already knew about the former CBS dictator: His anti-U.S. bent, which was further exposed when blogs such as Powerlineblog.com and Littlegreenfootballs.com uncovered Rather’s own fraudulence.

These were the same groups of valiant Internet warriors who thankfully brought down Rather and thwarted his treasonous attempt to overthrow the Bush administration by sliming the President with patently forged documents.  Although Rather knew the documents were purposely manufactured, he hypocritically claimed in Moyers’ hit piece that the New Media were doing things far worse than he’s ever done.

Yet, like Moyers, Rather also detests the New Media because Rather can no longer get away with his own dishonesty and deception as he fought to hang on to his anchor chair.

“Moyers declared that one special presence in the new film is disgraced CBS anchor Dan Rather,” wrote MRC’s Brent Baker (April 20, 2007).  “He reported [that] the program begins with footage of Rather crying on the David Letterman show a week after 9/11 proclaiming he would go “wherever the President tells me to line up.  But in this film, Rather and Moyers denounce a right-wing “slime machine.”  That’s a rich characterization coming from someone [like Rather] who tried to use bogus National Guard documents to ruin President Bush’s reputation.”

MOYERS’ NEO-MARXISM ENSLAVES; CONSERVATISM LIBERATES

As long as Moyers was allowed to push his “journalistic” collectivism prior to the advent of the New Media, he was able to deceive his now-dwindling audience.  But now that he’s finally been exposed for the traitor that he is, like Rather, he continues to manufacture anything that would suppress his own self-delusions and media malfeasance.

While Moyers’ neo-Marxism enslaves individuals by suppressing free thought, conservatism has set individuals free to think for themselves and develop intellectually; however, like Dan Rather and countless other media leftists, Moyers still lives behind his own imaginary Iron Curtain of intellectual isolationism and dishonesty to this very day.

“Now, if a journalist tried to tell the truth about the intelligence,” Moyers portentously claimed in his anti-Bush film, which categorically distorts the facts about Bush, the Iraq War and the New Media, “the Hannitys (of whom Moyers once ironically claimed put out “political pornography”) and the O’Reillys and the Limbaughs and the Mike Savages would come down on them, slander them, discredit them, so good reporting lost its power to break through because of this avalanche of opposition and venom directed at them.

“What’s happening to the media, it’s all over the place, I mean, Bill O’Reilly’s in the media, Eric Bates [of Rolling Stone] is in the media, so am I.  There are more media sources today than there ever was, as a result we’re losing our ability to… we’re losing the common knowledge that helps us act as a society in response to certain crises.”

(No, Moyers is wrong on all counts: He is not in the “media” because he has to get his neo-Marxism funded by the likes of George Soros and other Far Left wing nuts.  Ultimately, Moyers is completely dependent on federal subsidies and the Far Left’s filthy lucre to spread his anti-American propaganda.  But leftists in the Big Media and White House press corps already have editorial fat cats that allow them to do their own bidding for the Far Left, which is why they don’t need federal funding to keep their ideological “reporting” on the airwaves, and in the already shrinking print media.)

Yet, Moyers, who’s notoriously famous for routinely misquoting his political targets, purposely distorted O’Reilly’s comments in his latest leftist propaganda piece, Buying the War, by not putting them in the proper context, which has been Moyers’ stock and trade.

“Media abundance (which the scarcity critics must implausibly wave away as a mirage) has meant more room for right-of-center viewpoints that, while popular with many Americans, the critics find completely unacceptable,” wrote Adam D. Thierer on Frontpagemag.com (April 16, 2007).  “The fact that Bill O’Reilly gets better ratings than Bill Moyers perturbs them to no end.”

But rather than present both sides of the story and thus balance his hysterics with the truth, Moyers still oppresses his oftentimes unwitting viewers with one-sided commentaries meant to disengage those who have already exposed him as just another Dan Rather-like, journalistic fraud.

“Moyers has always been more propagandist than journalist, more bent on changing the world than reporting facts with fairness or objectivity,” Ponte wrote. “Even his programs dealing with religion and culture seem designed to undermine traditional values and beliefs.  His guests over the years have been disproportionately from the Left, including radicals such as Noam Chomsky, Barbara Ehrenreich, Carlos Fuentes and Cornel West.”

MOYERS LED SMEAR CAMPAIGN AGAINST BARRY GOLDWATER

In the Johnson White House, Ponte wrote, “Moyers supervised the task forces that shaped the legislation of the vast welfare expansion known as the Great Society; Moyers also orchestrated the 1964 political campaign of calculated hatred against Barry Goldwater.”

“Moyers personally green-lighted the notorious “daisy ad” that featured a little girl plucking daisy petals as a countdown leads to her vaporization in a nuclear blast, presumably that would happen if Goldwater were elected,” Ponte added.  “Moyers’ fear-mongering ad marked a turning point away from civility and decency and towards the polarizing hatred and Manichaean demonization that Democrats have injected into our political campaigns ever since.”

Here are just some of Moyers’ countless, tyrannical tirades:

On Jan. 12, 2007, at “the National Conference for Media Reform,” a Soros-funded leftist front that actually turned out to be a Stalinist clarion call to silence us conservatives, Moyers gave the following collective rant where he riddled bullets into every conservative tenet he fervently despised – even taking a cheap shot at our brave troops:

“Day after day, the ideals of fairness and liberty and mutual responsibility have been stripped of their essential dignity and meaning in people’s lives,” spewed Moyers, who was dripping in sarcasm as he basked in his hemispheric status at the Far Left event.

“Day after day, the egalitarian creed of our Declaration of Independence is trampled underfoot by hired experts and sloganeers, who speak of the “death tax,” “the ownership society,” “the culture of life,” “the liberal assault on God and family,” “compassionate conservatism,” “weak on terrorism,” “the end of history,” “the clash of civilizations,” “no child left behind.”

“They have even managed to turn the escalation of a failed war into a “surge,” as if it were a current of electricity through a wire, instead of blood spurting from the ruptured vein of a soldier.”

Moyers then lunged at the Bush administration’s supposed “secrecy,” (despite Moyers’ actual, private multi-million-dollar business sweetheart deals surreptitiously made inside the self-aggrandizing, hallowed walls of his public television fortress):

“But now they have found new methods in the name of national security and even broader claims of executive privilege.  The number of documents stamped ‘Top Secret,’ ‘Secret,’ or ‘Confidential’ has accelerated dramatically since 2001, including many formerly accessible documents that are now reclassified as ‘Secret,’” Moyers inveighed.  “Vice President Cheney’s office refuses to disclose, in fact, what it is classifying.  Even their secrecy is being kept a secret.”

In a Nov. 8, 2002 deranged tirade on “NOW,” Moyers complained about Bush’s supposedly Supreme Court-appointed position, while taking a swipe at Joe McCarthy for his “vicious ilk.”  Moyers also said Dwight Eisenhower was “conservative by temperament” and “moderate in the use of power.”

It’s a classic example of modern-day Marxism as he falsely accuses Bush of doing the exact same thing Moyers himself has done on PBS with our tax dollars:

“That brand of Republican is gone,” Moyers charged.  “And for the first time in the memory of anyone alive, the entire federal government – the Congress, the Executive, the Judiciary – is united behind a right-wing agenda for which George W. Bush believes he now has a mandate.

“That mandate includes the power of the state to force pregnant women to give up control over their own lives.  It includes using the taxing power to transfer wealth from working people to the rich.  It includes giving corporations a free hand to eviscerate the environment and control the regulatory agencies meant to hold them accountable.

“And it includes secrecy on a scale you cannot imagine.  Above all, it means judges with a political agenda appointed for life.  If you liked the Supreme Court that put George W. Bush in the White House, you will swoon over what’s coming.

“And if you like God in government, get ready for the Rapture.  These folks don’t even mind you referring to the GOP as the party of God.  Why else would the new House Majority Leader say that the Almighty is using him to promote ‘a Biblical worldview’ in American politics?  So it is a heady time in Washington – a heady time for piety, profits, and military power, all joined at the hip by ideology and money.

“Don’t forget the money.  It came pouring into this election, to both parties, from corporate America and others who expect the payback.  Republicans outraised Democrats by $184 million dollars.  And came up with the big prize – monopoly control of the American government, and the power of the state to turn their ideology into the law of the land.  Quite a bargain at any price.”

MOYERS POSTED ON VICIOUSLY ANTI-U.S., ANTI-SEMITIC WEB SITES

In a Jan. 30, 2005 rant, ominously titled “There Is No Tomorrow,” which was posted on the ravenously anti-American, anti-Semitic, Far Left Web site, Truthout.org, Moyers goes into his typically anti-Semitic tirade against Israel.

Moyers also took his usual digs at us Christians and tried to connect the 2004 election to the rapture, claiming that it’s “no wonder Karl Rove goes around the White House whistling that militant hymn, “Onward Christian Soldiers” because “he turned out millions of the foot soldiers” in the 2004 election, which included “many who have made the apocalypse a powerful driving force in modern American politics.”

“These true believers subscribe to a fantastical theology concocted in the 19th century by a couple of immigrant preachers who took disparate passages from the Bible and wove them into a narrative that has captivated the imagination of millions of Americans,” Moyers groused about the Bush administration.

“Its outline is rather simple, if bizarre: Once Israel has occupied the rest of its “biblical lands,” legions of the Antichrist will attack it, triggering a final showdown in the valley of Armageddon.  As the Jews who have not been converted are burned, the messiah will return for the rapture,” he blasphemously fumed.

“True believers will be lifted out of their clothes and transported to heaven, where, seated next to the right hand of God, they will watch their political and religious opponents suffer plagues of boils, sores, locusts and frogs during the several years of tribulation that follow.

“I’ve reported on these people, following some of them from Texas to the West Bank.  They are sincere, serious and polite as they tell you they feel called to help bring the rapture on as fulfillment of biblical prophecy.”

While Moyers loves to play the judge, jury and executioner of those of us on the Right, he hasn’t practiced what he’s been preaching to us – especially concerning his continual condemnation of capitalism and other forms of free-enterprise.  Apparently, he’s been profiting off the very kind of free market system that the following Stalinist publications he writes for despise – and he himself voraciously castigates.

According to the National Review’s Stephen Hayes, over his many years at PBS, Moyers has received money from such Stalinist rags as the Washington Monthly (about $52,000); The Nation Magazine, Mother Jones (at least $100,000), In These Times, Tom Paine.com (run [then] by Moyers’ son John), and The American Prospect.  “In some cases, this support runs well into the millions,” wrote Hayes, who’s one of the nation’s best investigative reporters on exposing leftist hypocrisy.

“Bill Moyers flagrantly indulges in the same conflicts of interest, Washington logrolling, and mutual back-scratching that he finds deeply objectionable in, well, everyone other than Bill Moyers,” wrote Hayes in a Feb. 25, 2002 article, which Hayes said had Moyers absolutely fuming.  “There were piles of documents – from IRS filings to internal records from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting – that supported this conclusion.

“Not surprisingly, Moyers didn’t like the scrutiny,” Hayes added.  “In the fusillade of insults that he sent my way, one claim stuck out as something that could later be verified.  He said that he always disclosed the fact when a Schumann grantee appeared on one of his programs.  The claim wasn’t true when he made it.  But surely he has since mended his ways?  Well, not exactly.”

Despite his anti-capitalist diatribes, Pearce wrote that Moyers has lived a very comfortable life through his many years on public television, netting an estimated $20 million income from taxpayers; Moyers also has still refused to disclose his other earnings from Far Left fronts, as he had promised.

“If the American people really want what the Schumann Foundation and others like it have to offer, they’ll support the ideas of its grantees with their wallets,” Pearce wrote.

“For too long, the conservative response to the ideological crusades funded and coordinated by Moyers and his ilk has been to debate these people on the issues.  It’s time we began publicly questioning where the money behind these campaigns came from and whether it was legally spent,” she added.  The public and the media deserve to know who’s behind the garbage they’re being fed.”

MOYERS DESPERATELY TRIES TO SHRED THE PAPER TRAIL

But, Pearce continued, “in their zeal to manipulate the public, Moyers & Company have gotten sloppy” over the past several years in covering their tracks.

“Sure, they’ve built a highly mobile left-wing guerilla army that can be on the ground in any state in the Union in weeks and at the forefront of the national debate on any issue they choose, or create, within months,” Pearce wrote.  “But in spinning off dozens of new issue-oriented non-profit charities for their minions to run each time they want to make a point, these organizations have skipped a very important step – the one where those charities raise at least a third of their money from individuals in the general public, which is key to keeping their tax status.”

“Claiming financial support from individual donors allows organizations like the IPA (Moyers’ Soros-funded – and ironically-named – Institute for Public Accuracy) to operate as public charities, which affords them greater lobbying ability and more tax exemptions,” Pearce wrote.  “Like the IPA, all of the Schumann grantees we analyzed check-box 11a on their 990 tax forms, indicating that they qualify for non-private foundation status because their organization “normally receives a substantial part of its support from a governmental unit or the general public.””

But, again, it’s only Far Leftist demagogues like Moyers who desperately need to have their neo-Marxist views funded by fellow America-haters like Soros, where there’s little, if any, demand for them to be heard, which explains the demise of the now-bankrupt Air America.  But conservatism has never required one single dime of funding by the federal government – or by front groups disgusting themselves as 527s – because of the huge vacuum left by the mainstream media, who still largely refuse to allow conservative news and opinion to be heard; Rush Limbaugh and Fox News are testimonies to that fact.

In the end, Moyers has proven to be a despicable, promulgating ogre who takes great pleasure in pushing his anti-Americanism, while being unwilling and unable to be held accountable for his blatant dishonesty and serial distortions of the facts.  In essence, Moyers is the Wizard of Oz: Despite having the curtain pulled to expose his intellectual and ethical depravity, he’s still working the switches in a fruitless effort to stay in control.

Bottom line: Moyers isn’t a journalist; he never has been, and never will be.  Instead, he’s a well-financed, Far Left propaganda lobbyist who had largely gone unquestioned and unchallenged prior to the rise of the New Media – the very media that Moyers and Rather have tried to discredit along the way to actually ending up discrediting themselves.  In his vast hypocrisy, Moyers has embraced everything he supposedly loathes about the GOP.

Like Dan Rather, Moyers, PBS’s Far Left-funded fat cat, is still unable to accept the fact that he’s been found out – and is more ethically bankrupt and morally corrupt than ever.
