Chris Sushynski is the Founder and President of ‘In the Beginning,’ an innovative company devoted to presenting the ‘lighter side’ of religion by presenting religious characters, events, and issues in comic form.

A leading pioneer in religious comic writing, Chris founded In the Beginning to show that religious comic writing can be a tool for making people laugh, breaking stereotypes about religious people, and bringing healing to people through the power of humor. “One of the most important ways to receive healing is by laughter,” says Sushynski. “I hope that those who read will laugh out loud and receive healing from it or through it.”

Chris, who has a Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan, has entertained audiences with his drawings since his early childhood and his artistic works have been published in various outlets including “Faith Magazine.” Chris’s drawings have also been used to bring in financial support for fundraising organizations.

“We’re proving that people of faith can have good clean fun just like anyone else can without going over the edge,” says Sushynski. “I feel God has been faithful to me and that I am serving him by sharing this humor with others.”
