Uh-Oh! After Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald gave his now infamous news conference, in which he explained his indictment of Lewis Libby for lying and said Libby was the original source of divulging the identity of classified CIA agent Valerie Plame (Fitz was very careful not to say covert), he may now have to eat his words. Orhe can file yet another lawsuit against someone else in the Bush Administration. Yeahthats the ticket!
That way, he may be able to resurrect his now-bruised ego and get another Republican to cower before him. Fitz the Independent has prosecuted at least 50 of them, already. SP Fitzgerald has announced that hes calling yet another grand jury. Will it be to actually check on the veracity of new revealed information and new witnesses or will he try and nail another member of the Bush Administration?
Now that journalist Bob I-have-a-new-book-coming-out Woodward has decided to reveal the facts that not only many people knew about Plames CIA status but, that he had heard about it before Libby is purported to have divulged the informationand Libby wasnt even his sourceis Fitzgerald now scrambling to try to get someone else hauled up by his or her petard? Orwill his own do? This is becoming almost as convoluted as Desperate Housewives! Will the mad prosecutor leaf through the rosters of both Senate and House Republicans to see if he can come up with one of them to put on the hot seat? Will he, also, decide to go after Tom DeLay? Are Fitzgerald and Earle planning to tag team on this one?
Whew! The possibilities are virtually endless if a man is bound and determined by his obsession of a pursuit.
To top it off, instead of blaming Bob Woodward for the problemguess who is being blamed by the liberal press? Whythe Bush Administration, of course! Leftie Marvin Kalb, appearing on Fox News this Sunday (have you noticed that Fox News now has more libs and leftists providing commentary than moderates or conservatives?), said that it was the Bush Administration that has caused these problemsnot Woodward. Good grief!
Wellnow that Kalbs said itI guess its now officially true. Whatever goes wrong in your lifeits President Bushs fault. If youre a liberal, you arent supposed to take any responsibility for your life. Besides, to libs and leftists nothing the president does suits them anyway. Hes an inherently easy and available target.
So, stay tuned folks. Fitzgerald may have found a way to stretch his 15 minutes of fame into hours, weeks, months or even years. Besides, the way hes going, he may turn out to be the best soap star on TV. More than likely, the only one who will (at the end of this debacle) be left smiling is Bob did-I-tell-you-I-have-a-new-book-coming-out? Woodward. And hell be smiling all the way to the bank.
